What better way to start the day than a half hour walk across moorland in total darkness and to sit on the edge of a cliff and watch a beautiful pre-dawn glow emerge from the darkness. Mist fills the valley below and the only sounds are the russle of leaves in the gentle breeze. Critiques appreciated. Thanks, Tristan

Lovely image Tristan. Superb reflection in the rock puddle and the overall differential in lighting from fg to bg is wonderfully atmospheric.
Stunner IMO

Great shot as is, but can I inject some thought -
Was it possible to get right on top of the pool and make it even bolder foreground element? I know nothing of your LF setup and no idea how low you could get on the tripod you have etc. Here's a possible crop sugesstion anyway, this is what I was thinking when I immediately saw it... me and my little 35mm conditioning!
The lighting is sublime, colour tones and contrast is totally spot on.

Great shot Tristan. Wish for such landscapes in our country.
Very beautiful and well captured.
Thanks Dave, I do have images with this (or similar) comp but I didnt manage to get one in this light with the lf camera. I had to move back a fair way to get the reflection. I'm hoping to get back for another attempt in the near future before the sun moves too far to the right. This is a shot taken later on.
I like this very much indeed. the original one is my favourite but I also like David's cropped version.
The slight mist, beautiful colours and wonderful foreground interest all work perfectly together.
Great to see a bigger version included.
Best time of the day by far

Nice .
I certainly prefer the first with the trees on the right.

Superb shot and wonderful colours. I too prefer the original - the trees top right really add something for me.
