That's what the forest service sign said as I pulled off the highway into this location as the clouds were getting good. Actually there was kind of a bluff shelter to the left of what you see here, but I was drawn to this beautiful multi-colored outcrop somewhere in New Mexico.
It has really been a beautiful year for fall color in Colorado - and was able to hook up with Tom Kennon a couple of times last week, including for some buffalo meatloaf at the True Grit restaurant in Ridgway... Thanks for all the tips and advice on locations to shoot, Tom!

Bill, this is a really great shot and the clouds are fantastic! Glad you made it back and I look forward to seeing some more of you shots from last week.
I am just beginning to go through my 2100 exposures to see if I have any keepers! The colors in Colorado were the best I have seen in many years and the Buffalo meatloaf wasn't bad either.

Stunning photograph and scenery and a great job with the B&W conversion.
Thanks Tom and Randy. Glad you made it back OK Tom. There sure was a lot more to shoot on the way through NM, just not enough time...the rabbitbrush, scrub oak, grasses, and other flora was spectacular!

Since stunning was already taken I'll just say this is magnificent! I sure hope I get to see this one in print some day. Love it!!
Awsome image. I was just down the road from Ridgeway in Ouray last week, too bad we didn't cross paths.
The True Grit restaurant is a really nice place to eat. Faith and I bought True Grit dvd and watched while we were there just for nostalgia.
Look forward to seeing some of your CO images on your website.

Bill, Having driven through New Mexico more times than I want to think about, This is a great shot of the cliffs, (bluffs?) that abound in the area. The cloud formation shows the darkness of approaching rain, yet the brush in the foreground gives a calmness to the shot. Great catch on the lighting. B&W does this one well.
