Steptoe in Browns
Midday, hazy blue sky, but still interesting colors and shapes. Still my first trip and I enjoyed the view and all the small old towns and buildings in the area.

Nice shot, but with this kind of sky, Jerry, I think you need to "go weird". The foreground curves, the lines in the fields, the different colored fields, that's were the action is.

I agree with Mark, it's a good shot from Steptoe Butt, but I think zooming in to curves and patterns of the stubble and the summer fallow would be good since the sky isn't doing anything for it. It makes me a little homesick.

Yep! Steptoe! Love it. What a nice pallette of warm earthtones. In addition to advice already given, I'll just add that next time go up for dawn and/or sunset. The light at those times truly transforms this landscape. This is a GOOD photo, though. Isn't the area just the most fun? Photo opps too plentiful to capture in a month!

Jerry, I was scrolling down reading the posts, and when I looked near the top of my browser, it was just at the point where your image was partially hidden, cutting off the sky, and WOW, it just came alive! Try it... scroll down so the image gets the sky cut and the haze off, and you have a wonderful pano. The texture of the terra firma is superb.

I think you have a winner here Jerry! I'm with everyone else...taking out the sky is the way to go. I'd crop it just below the horizon so the landscape still fades into the blue haze. Print it and hang it.
