As part of the Boulder Open Studios weekend, I visited Chris Black's studio this afternoon and REALY emjoyed his gallery of Grand Canyon images. SUPERB print quality. You really need to see these prints framed, without the hinderance of glass, to appreciate them.

Chris shoots LF, scans, and prints digitally. He was an incredible master of the color darkroom. When he switched to digital a few years ago, I felt his prints did not meet his previous standards. Well, a few years of learning, in combination with the great improvements in printers, ink, and paper are clearly shown in his current work.

Many of the images on display are from the Grand Canyon.
In his earlier life, Chris was a river guide in the canyon.

Next weekend will be the final 2 days of the event.
