That was the plan when the Warden put the stick in middle of the lake, since then the water has evaporated and left it full of voles instead of tasty fish for Mr kingfisher, the end result is this Barn Owl turned up last night, beggars can't be choosers.

Brilliant! The colours are superb. I would lose the lower part just above the branch but that's personal.

Good stuff Brian.
I reckon I would crop some of the lower perch off too. No big deal though.
Good to see you still snapping. :biggrin
Cheers

Hi Brian,

Very nice indeed. Agree with cropping a bit off of the bottom. Looks like a male bird (no spots on the neck and looks fairly light in plumage). Bet you were thrilled to bits when this landed, if not a bit shaken, by the sound of it. Isn't adrenalin a wonderful thing

Nice work

A very nice shot, especially the definition of the feet. I'd lose a bit off the bottom too.

Thanks for all the comments, I agree about the perch, I will have to do something about that, I am hoping the bird might be back to give me some more chances

Shaking or not it's a belter Brian - who wants a boring KF anyway

Cracking shot :wavey:

Impressively steady. What sets it apart, to my eye,is that the whole bird is visible and the perch obscures nothing.

beautiful image, agree about the cropping suggestion and it seems a little cold in coulour as well, unless that was intentional for the mood

Lovely shot of a great subject. Is it just me or is there a slight magenta colour cast?
Posted by Brian McGeough on October 6, 2008 at 5:36 PM
Thanks again for your comments, I think the colour issue was due to the light in the area it was taken, its as it was but im sure i could warm it up in PS if it would enhance the image. cheers Brian :toast:
