just wanted to say Hi I've recently joined the site but haven't had a chance to put much online yet. I live in Cheshire, a place which I am still discovering, so if anyone has any good locations to photograph please let me know.
My main passion is for wildlife but I also like nature and travel photography - wish I could pin it down but there's so much nice stuff to shoot out there!
I've attached one photo here taken in the Masai Mara a couple of years ago. Hope you like it.
many thanks

Hi Liz,
Welcome to the forum . Lovely first post, timed perfectly. Had a good look at your website, very impressive galleries both wildlife and travel etc. If poss post some techy details with the image .
Hi again, some technical details on the shot. It was taken on an old 500 F4.5, the one without IS, ISO 400, Focal Length 700mm, 1/2000 at F6.3 on a 5D.
I was hanging out the roof of a jeep in the Mara. This was my first safari (06) and I was after the big cats but my best shot turned out to be this Roller. I have a fairly good sequence of him playing with the grasshopper and positioning it for its final journey. Attached another one here. Both shots made it to the semis of the Shell WPOTY 2008.

Welcome to the forum

I like the timing of your shot above. I assume the bird tossed the grasshopper in the air, rather than it simply being a spectacularly unfortunate hop
