LR2 to CS3 Photomerge problem ?

I'm having problems opening multiple images using the Lightroom v2 to CS3-Photomerge option.

Here are my steps:

1. In Library Grid view - Select multiple images
2. Select: Photo / Edit In / Merge to Panorama in Photoshop
3. Nothing happens. :frown:

Merge to Panorama in Photoshop is grey (not bold),
So are all the other options such Merge to Header, etc.
The only option available is Edit in Photoshop CS3 - and this does work.

I get the same results in both the Develop and Library module.
Martin Evening in his book notes that the photomerge option is only available in the Library Grid view, or the filmstrip contextual menu, when in Develop mode. NONE work for me.

So, what silly thing am I missing?

What kind of files are they?

Is Photoshop already running?

Nate,
The files are in a DNG format. Same results for JPEGs.
I get the same results if Photoshop is closed or open.

Hey, I just ran into the same thing last weekend. I am using DNGs too. I'll be interested in seeing a solution from our resident LR gurus.

Edit: Just found this in a LR forum...
You also need PSCS 10.0.1 properly installed. Also LR2.1RC fixed PSCS issues for some people.

I've not done the 10.0.1 upgrade on CS3, or the LR upgrade, but will give that a try...

Thanks, Scott.

Downloading the PSCS 10.0.1 update solved the problem for me. :toast:

I did not try the LR2.1RC update. I'll wait for the fully tested version.
Don't want to deal with the other new problems reported, such as Epson print driver issues, etc.

Good job, Scott!

The release notes for Lightroom 2 state that for full functionality for all these kinds of operations between LR and PS (photomerge, HDR etc.) that you need to have the latest versions of both.

Soooo that's how they're going to make sure we still need Photoshop ;-)
