Hi,

Not my usual type of image but as this stag was getting closer and closer, I couldn't make my mind up whether to scarper or carry on taking images... decided that he would outrun me anyway so stood my ground and tried for some close ups... was quite safe I think he enjoyed bellowing in the ears of passers by....

Looking forward to Saturday.

they seem quite tame at richmond this year and i've approached to within 400mm range as well. A word of advice for sat's group, wear your full outdoor gear and watch out for ticks. I had 6 on bag on Sat wading thru the long ferns. Richmond ticks can be disease carrying so beware and wear your gaiters! Nice shot phil, as usual

A cracking close up Phil. I wish the wild stags where I'm going on saturday were as approachable. Sadly, I know they wont be.
Robert.

Lets face it Phil, how would you have scarpered at your age anyway?

Great image, you can almost hear what he is saying.

Great close up. The tight crop gives it a bit more guts too I reckon.

Hi Phil,

This works perfectly for me. A great close-up on the action/behaviour. As I said in your previous one, I really like the soft lighting here.

Looks as though you have been putting in some practice before Saturday and produced I fine effort at that. :toast:

From the look in his eye, I think I would have had a few convertors on that lens. He who dares wins Rodney and this is a winner.

Cool close up Phil, wouldn't fancy getting caught on those antlers either!
