I just got home from 5 days in Kebler, McClure and Ridgeway area and there are a couple things I wanted to say. First, the conditions and foliage were beyond my wildest expectations. The color was like nothing I've ever seen....and I originally come from NY, Vermont area!
Next, I ran into several photographers who belong to as well as post to this forum. Each and every one of them were friendly, courteous and professional in every sense of the word. It was great to meet Matt Kennedy and Monty Trumbull and several others who are not on the forum.
I want to give special thanks to Tony L. We got in touch by cell and met in Ridgeway. I spent 2 days with him, shooting and car camping along the back roads. As a person who wants to take my work to a new level, I couldn't have asked for a better coach! He showed me new ways to compose, checked my viewfinder, made recommendations and even let me use his filters when mine broke....and it didn't cost me a dime! I came away with some fantastic images which I will share in the next few days. Tony, I give you my most humble thanks and appreciation.
This is an awesome forum and a place where one can learn and grow whether a hobbyist or budding professional. Read the comments, ask questions and post images. I've been posting comments for a year now. I will be joining and hopefully contributing a lot more as a result of my experience this past week!

Glad to hear you've had a great experience. This is such a great community and we're glad to add another person to our group.
Sounds like a wonderful experience, I hope to meet some fellow members on one of my upcoming trips. I know this website has helped me greatly already...

The experiences you described, both face-to-face and online, is exactly what we have always tried to foster here at RMNP (and previously CNP). The success of this community over the years is a testament to it's members. Kudos to all who participate here for making this forum a haven for learning, comradeship and sharing a passion for nature and photography.
