Early morning otter
I have been having a go at putting together a website and was checking through my files when I came across this image of an otter swimming through a pond very early on a misty morning. At the time I discounted it as the otter was so small in the picture but as I have come to like these environment images I tried a bit of post processing and cropping to see what I could get. When I first saw it I hadn't even noticed the heron lurking in the mist behind the otter! It may not come over so well compressed down but I'd be interested to hear how others perceive the image. Incidentally, my missus thinks it's rubbish so don't worry about saying what you think.

I'd say it's very difficult to judge at 600 pixels, but it could probably hold the viewer's interest if viewed larger. A pleasant shot

Yes I agree with Matt.
Its like a view looking out of a hide. Very nice though. Nature isn't all in yer face closeups like the telly tells us all.

At this image size I find it hard to tell what it is. Maybe it works better as a largish print?

I took a few otter shots while I was in Scotland recently - it was even smaller  ! They're difficult to get close. I like the misty surrounding and the light, but agree it is probably best as a large print. :wavey:

I like the atmosphere of this composition very much :wavey:
