Hi I am a new member to NPN and this is my first post. This is a re-post as my first attempt failed to display the picture.
This is actually a pic I took over two years ago whilst visiting my parents in Norfolk. I was on my way to a pond to photograph some swans when a hare bolted from about 20ft away into a hedge. I thought there was a good chance he(or she) might return so kept very still for about 10mins and sure enough the hare hopped back and then sat upright for a second. I managed to get about 3 shots before the hare saw me and hotfooted it.

The camera used was a Canon 350d, 70-300 IS USM lens at 300mm. f7 and iso 400.

I would be very grateful for any comments and critique (negative or positive  )
Kind regards
Matt

Welcome Matt

Just goes to show that you don't need £5k worth of camera gear to get decent images. Time, patience and opportunism will always win through. Great first post

Great first post - you'll see a few Norfolk Hares on here, and this is right up there imo.

Matt you sly dog, you must have joined up without me noticing. As I am sure you have heard my comments before about this shot I will keep it brief.......really nice, sharp shot and really lovely saturated green colours.

I forgot to add, my camera system has changed (earlier this year) to a D300. I did get the 70-300vr for it (based on reviews) but ironically could never get results I was entirely happy with (mainly bokeh related) compared to my canon 70-300 (which I rated very highly). I've very recently exchanged it for a used Nikkor 180 f2.8 prime and much prefer the results (although I'll need to get much closer to subjects).
