I reckon when the animals enviroment is as stunning as this it'd be a crying shame not to include as much of it as possible, as you have done here.
I don't think having the animals so central would have worked half as well if there hadn't been a single animal behind them, but as there is I think it works well.
The image looks very nice and natural looking but I think it could be improved further by a levels or curves adjustment, perhaps boosting the contrast and overall brightness. I wouldn't mind just a touch more saturation, but without going over the top.
that's a lovely setting and we don't get too many bison on UKNP I tend to agree with Justin about it needing a slight levels adjustment. A nice shot though.

Hi Barry.
Just a simple raising of the gamma would help this picture a lot without getting too complicated. Maybe some contrast and brightness ( Sorry -Paint Shop Pro man )
Still a very evocative image though.
Cheers

This is what America is about - the massive scale of the open spaces - which I think you've captured well in these images
That looks a nice scene, I really like these vistas with the bison, certainly needs that lift in the levels though...
Hope you don't mind, have done a quick levels and curves adjustment as I think this image is deserving. I will remove it if you wish.

Thanks for the advice and critique and the adjustment Phil. I can see the impact.
I have been reluctant to try too much PP as I tend to over do the tweaks too heavy handed.
Also lack of knowledge plays a part. Although I'm using a tutorial DVD and hoping if I throw enough mud at the wall some will stick.
Magnus I agree, the word vast has a new meaning in my book.
Thanks for looking and sharing your expertise. Its appreciated.
