Not quite as much COLOR as Bill's shots from the great Colorado, but, for those of you heading towards the Buffalo area along the most scenic highway of all in this area - Hwy. 16 - you will no doubt notice this beauty (if you have not already). There was some really nice color beginning in the upper White River drainage today, and elsewhere too. I think we are going to have a wonderful fall color season here...

Tim - for some reason the image isn't loading, but I went to the Journal and saw the BEAUTIFUL Pettigrew Fire Department building - now that's some color!

I hope all the rain lately doesn't push the color back too much...I'm really looking forward to fall in the Ozarks. Colorado has some spectacular color for sure, but as Dorothy said in The Wizard of Oz - "There's no place like home". I love Arkansas...

One more thing about Colorado that Tom and I both agreed on, and that is that we felt like we were, in some cases, much more advanced in our photographic skills than many of the other serious photogs we met. I won't even bring up etiquette...Being a graduate of several Tim Ernst workshops certainly gave me confidence in knowing that I could shoot with the best, and that my work would be something I'd be proud to show. Cost of a workshop - $500; confidence and skills learned - priceless. Thanks Tim!

Hey Bill, thanks for the endorsement, but times have changed - the workshops now are either $299 or $699 - a great deal either way!

Not sure what the issue with the photo not loading is - comes up fine on my computers. Anyone else having an issue? I will add a direct link here just in case - it really is a BRIGHT building! I would say that Fire Engine RED was the perfect color for this building.

Must have been my computer at home - loads fine on my computer at work (usually it's the other way around).

Works fine for me, great shot Tim. This landmark is just down the road from the turnoff to my cabin just south of Pettigrew.

Echoing Bills comments; we are fortunate in Arkansas to have such a renown photographer who is willing to share his experiences. I have not had the opportunity to take one of Tim's workshops but have seen the results and they are excellent. I pay very close attention to his blog and posts around the web.

Here is related story from the field while in Colorado. I was busy shooting a great scene with diffused light and couple of really nice guys from around the country were with me. One commented that he was having trouble with gettng the correct meter reading and exposure with his digital camera. I just told him I really do not worry what the meter shows, I only pay attention to the histogram and try to expose to the right. I learned this in my first class with Tim back in 2005. Thanks for that tip and all the other ones that you have shared with me over the years, Tim.
