Bee-eater
Another one from Africa. Took this one afternoon when I spent a couple of hours following a variety of birdlife around the walkways of the lodge we stayed at. I couldn't find a vantage point where I could get on a level with the bee-eaters despite being on raised up paths so ended up shooting everything into the afternoon sky. In my favour was that they would keep coming back to the same perch after short forays chasing insects.

40D + 120-300 + 2xTC = 548mm, ISO 800 and f/6.3 for 1/2000, +1/3ev, beanbag rested on handrail

About 50-60% crop from the original and a fair bit of sharpening - might have overdone some of it.

All comments welcome

Great looking Bee eater Magnus (What species?). The tail blur does tend to make me look there first but its still a nice looking image. :toast:

Very nice indeed. Sharpening looks fine to me. You could maybe darken the sky a little.
