Just wanted to give a heads up for anyone who is just purchasing a Canon 50d, you need to upgrade to the beta 4.6 version of Adobe Camera Raw in order to open images in Photoshop.
I was a bit scared last night when I couldn't open any of the files I just shot in RAW with my 50d. Downloaded the beta and everything worked flawlessly.
Cheers,
Kevin

Be warned though, that numerous threads at dpreview.com talk about how poorly Adobe converts the RAW files. This is especially true at the higher ISO settings. Supposedly, Adobe completely butchers the conversion then. DPP does a fine job though :).
I've never heard that about the ACR utility. I don't use the Canon DPP software to import files into photoshop anymore, I have so much more control in the ACR utility..
I wonder what the ACR is doing that people feel is so poor?
