This was taken at Lake Irwin a week ago. Just continuing to play with 1600 iso, like on my previous post, on a moonless time of night. This was just about an hour before sunrise, if I remember correctly.

The backbone of the night! Is this with a 5D? What are the noise levels like? Hard to tell from a jpg. I always like night sky shots! Cool image!
Phillip,
Yes, it's a 5d, 28-135mm@28mm, f4@30sec. Lots of hot spots which may even be part of the stars for all I know. But it's fun. Might be a lot of clean-up work for a large print.
Thanks.

This is just grand!
I'm wondering.....did you use lower ISO speeds with the same exposure parameters around the same time? I assume the images might be dimmer, but have no way of knowing.
Also, did you enable the camera to take a concurrent 30 sec. "noise reduction" (actually a 'dark frame subtraction' to map hot pixels) image?
No, I didn't try any lower iso speeds, I had to bump the exposure here in camera raw to get more out of it, and I cooled the temp to get the blue. It was more gray in the "as shot". I also, did not use any noise reduction. I plan to try that at some point to see how it affects the shot.
