Thought I'd contribute some more to the recent flood of deer photo's!
Bushy Park the other day was full of roaring Stags but unfortunately they were all mouth and no trousers!
This was also my first real time out with the 600 and boy do I love it! This stag had wondered past me and off towards the setting sun, when he started calling out. So I spun round to get a few shots of him in the nice side light - which produced some subtle rim light. Slightly tight to the left of frame but not sure I want to add any canvas.
A very nice shot. Great action and a nice bit of rim lighting on the deer. I like contrast variation between the sunlit grass and the darker background.

Cracking shot Richard and I think it would be better with a bit more canvas on the right.
A tiny bit tight in the frame maybe.
Good stuff.

A nice shot made a bit special by the rim lighting.
I used to live near Bushey Park and spent many happy hours there. Really miss it this time of year and your picture hasn't helped!

I think it sits about right in the frame as a portrait, just enough room for him to bellow into :D
Quite a rack he has too!
