Inquisitive Shortie
1D2n, 600mm f4 is x1.4tc, 1/250s, f7.1, iso 500.

Had a great couple of hours this afternoon following a few SEO's. I think they see so few humans that they are fairly carefree. I certainly didn't need a hide!

Hi Ian,

Pose of the bird is excellent. Again, I do feel the image needs lifting a little as posted looks a little dark, also if possible try it with a landscape crop and give it space to fly into.

a very nice shot though

regards

Rob

PS send some southward, none in Suffolk that I know of

Lovely picture. He looks like he is asking: "Is this the right pose?"

Thanks guys! Tried landscape but didn't like it much. I've opened it up a bit and tried to brighten it - difficult without blowing the highlights.

I like this - the blur on the wings conveys a feeling of speed.
I'm planning on trying to get myself some flight shots of these over the coming week and if I can get one half as good as this I'll be happy!
Well done.

Excellent shot. The re-post looks better with that subtle contrast increase.

Going back on this, the difference could be construed as subtle , and I have looked at it a few times, but I feel the first post is much nicer.

lovely image, prefer the crop on the first one but the processing on the second, not so keen on the wing position, but otherwise great

I like this a lot!! A bit different to the norm, excellent eye contact, lovely background, I like the pose and wing position. :toast:

Great capture, I prefer the second shot, although a very subtle difference. I think IMHO that the portrait crop would work better as this complements the wing position in the frame, I've tried to visualise a landscape version, but just don't think it would work as well as this.

Well captured

Cheers
