Fire on the trees!
Jim suggested I post in this region, being a NPN member from upstate NY. Although most of my work is in floral I do love to get out this time of year for the fall colors.

This was taken at daybreak at one of our local parks, Mendon Park, Rochester,NY. This park has several small lakes and is known for the geographical features formed by the glaciers. It also is a home for rapters (captive) which are unable to survive in the wild due to age or injury. Lots of trails including a birdsong trail for feeding wild birds.

What a pretty shot Larry! Welcome to NEPN!! It's neat how the tops of the trees are colorful in the sunlight and not so much in shade. I like how the grass on the right helps balnce the overall picture.

A great looking image, I really like the play of light on the trees.

Real nice color Larry, and I especially like the mist lifting on the water. Very nice.

Very nice photograph, Larry. I would like to maybe make an Autumn trek through the Adirondacks next year.

Very nice, tranquil image Larry, I like the interplay of the top light on the trees and the mist off the water.

The light is spectacular, and the image has a nice mood to it. I might have crouched a bit lower to lessen the separation between the great foreground elements and the trees, which feel just a hair top weighted. Otherwise, a fine image! :toast:

Larry, good to see you posting here as well! I like Jim's suggestion of a slightly lower shooting angle, but otherwise like it as is.

Jim,
Welcome to the NENP forum! Love this image and layers of light. I agree less separation between the foreground and the colors would probably be a nicer image but this one looks just fine!

Nice!
