We took trip over to Wollaton Park to capture the excitment of the rut. Spent the day waiting for something to happen and this is as exciting as it got.
As a bonus I got several shots of a Green Woodpecker so not a totally wasted trip.
Sometimes that how it is, Richmond one day was great with loads of action the next it was quiet...
nice image of these sparing youngsters, although a bit static and a shame about the lawn, but the narrow DoF from the wider aperture has worked well.

One can only echo Phil's comments. When we are limited to photographing these animals in the parks as well all have, it's best to try and get them when in the long grass, wooded glade or even in the bracken etc.. Unfortunately, these guys look like they are barely tickling each other in a wildlife park somewhere..! Shame because the detail on the young stags is really quite nice and the colours throughout work well. Keep up the good work..!

Thanks for the comments, it was a last resort shot. The big stags had been asleep all day and only got up to stretch they were all in the open as well. In fact we thought one large stag had died it was asleep for so long.
We plan to go back this weekend to see if they have moved
