Hi,

This is almost the image I was after but not quite. I will not use this as IMO I have had to do too much PP to get it, including the removal of a feeding hind.

This is the dominant stag in Richmond and had a sizable harem, but was very difficult to photograph effectively as he was nearly always in amongst the herd or just positioned wrong, a few of us were trying to illustrate the rather nasty looking battle wound that he must have obtained earlier, but from the position I was in every time he bellowed with his right lateral face to me the light was in the wrong direction to pick out the blood effectively.

It does illustrate however that even park deer can have a good go abd sustain injury.

All the best and it was great to meet quite a few of you over the weekend (Richmond turned into a bit of a two day event...)

now doesn't he look fierce! What a moment to capture, you really have done well to isolate him from the rest of the herd,

cheers

 Tough animals!!! So much for 'park deer' being tame  Nice shot, Phil. Guessing the PP work is on the top right of the stag. A shame, but still a great shot. I think it may be better leaving the hind in for context, rather than scrubbing her out? Not seen this much blood on a park stag before... just the odd puncture wound in the flank. Great stuff.

Thats what you call battle damage. Is that a hole just in front of his eye?
Looking forward to the next jolly.

Phil, you have no idea how much I like this shot. I've been dreaming to take such a shot and gave up a long time ago.
Absolutely amazing.

Very well captured Phil, I only have this 'Big Guy' with his harem and couldn't isolate him from where I was.. Great to catch up with you, as always and the work you've put into this does, in no way, detract from a really graphical image. Well done.
