Fallow deer locking antlers
Hello,

One from Dyrham Park at the weekend, good to meet up with some of you.

This pair were fighting for around 20 minutes, all the time right in from of the rest of the herd with the hinds in the background.

This is 90%of full frame, cropped a touch off the left to make symmetrical (ish). Did think about cropping much tighter to just show the heads and antlers, but not sure, what do you think?

D300 + 300 2.8 + 1.7 TC (500mm)
1/800 f 5.6 ISO 200

thanks for looking

cheers

Colin.

I like as is.

When i went there a couple of the stags only locked up for about 30 seconds

Nice shot

Yes the crop is fine for me, I might even remove some from the top to make it more pano. Looks like the light wasn't doing you any favours and was rather harsh, but I think you may be able to do some PP to rescue the shadowy areas...

Hi Colin
I looked at this three or four times now and it's probably my weird sense of humor but are those figures in the back ground Lions?

I think a pano would work well.

LOL about the lions, they certainly do look like them!

Think either the pano or the portrait would potentially work but would also consider cloning out the OOF tree on the right if you are aiming for greater symmetry
