Hi Folks,

Firstly, I'd like to say that it was a pleasure meeting some of you during Phil's arranged event at Richmond over the weekend. The weekend rolled over into two days since a few others of us had arranged to meet on the Sunday as well and then more joined so good fun was had by all..!

Now then.. This was one of a good number of shots that I tried to obtain during the weekend. I have a few more that I am holding on to for now as I have some other ideas for them.. However, thought that I would share this one with you for your comments.

It is a little different from the regular deer posts I have seen on here and therefore I am pleased to share it.

Enjoy the rest of your day,

Kind regards,

Brett

Canon 30D, Sigma 50-500mm (@ 161mm), Tripod, F11 @ 1/500 sec

I like this a lot. I think if you crop out most of the bright part of the sky (leaving an orange crecent) , it makes a very atmospheric image. Lovely stuff!.

Told you Brett... I am not speaking to you any more

You already know that we are all jealous of this shot, glad to see Tony didn't get his hand on the card and format it

Absolutely super, as Alan says one of the best.

Got to find something... you got a dust bunny top right

Hi Folks, Thanks for that...

Ian: Do you mean crop the sky down to the tops of the trees..?

Phil: This isn't the shot that I showed you over the weekend..! That is one of the ones I am keeping back for other work..!

Phil, I noticed that when I uploaded it.. Damn it..! I did mention it in the post but removed the text to wait and see who might be first to mention it.. I kind of knew it would be you.. LOL..!

Easily solved, and I still have more..

Brett.

Every bit as good as I saw it on the back of your camera Brett, superb stuff!

As Phil says, we are all jealous, but as you bought the coffees I don't hate you

Great to see you again,

Fran x

Gorgeous stuff, Brett. Please don't be tempted to crop it any more than the little you have done so already.

Best wishes

I love the atmospheric feeling but do agree with earlier comments about a crop to leave the orange crescent.

Wonderful shot, think I prefer it as you've presented it rather than a crop.

Brett

One of the best red deer images I've see seen...ever!

I wonder if you'd mind contacting me about the image - I have a potential use for it and you'll even make a few quid!

Best

Dear All,

Thanks very much for your comments, very much appreciated. When I first heard and saw this animal I was drawn to him, in fact I told the others I was with that I would catch them up as I wanted to spend some time with him.. Sounds a bit odd, but I'm glad I did and i'm really quite pleased with the results thus far.. Thanks again for taking the time.

Pete: I have sent you an e-mail via your contact tab on here..!

Kind regards,

Brett. :toast: :toast:

beautiful image, certainly is right up there among the best

"Do you mean crop the sky down to the tops of the trees..?"

Brett - yes that was my original thought and it's fascinating to see different opinions. I would at least crop to the top of the trees as I feel the brightness at the top unbalances the image. I still like it best almost square, leaving just a hint of the sun showing. Whichever, it really is superb - better every time I look. Of course, as it stands, perfect book cover!

Well it doesn't look much to me..... but that is only because all I get on my screen is a little box with a red X in it. This has happened a few times now. Any idea why this happens?

Thanks for your continued comments folks..

Rob: Not quite sure why that is..? I know that JR had a similar problem a while ago but I can send you the link if you like so you cane take a look..?

Kind regards,

Brett.

One of the coolest and 'freshest' deer shots I have seen. I love the context of the mist, rising sun, and frost The deer's position is perfect. Amazing image!

Hi Brett

Good to meet you on Sunday and when you showed me the shot on the back of your camera I thought it would be something a bit special - and it is. Wonderful image!
