Just back from quite a few days away, starting off with 4 days up some very windy Welsh mountains for some serious panning practice on Tornados and Typhoons, and then 10 days in Scotland staying at a Farmhouse near Tayvallich, photographing just about everything.
The Goldcrests and Stonechats were some of the easiest to shoot that I have encountered, but it was the Wrens that stole the show.

NIce! I see quite a few of these in the garden but usually in dense undergrowth. Have you tried a portrait version?

Good to see a post again Nigel. I like this, mainly because of the contrast of the bird against the background... very subtle. Full frame as well! btw how's the Ds MKIII ?
Regards Chris

Hi Nigel,
Nice shot and good composition of this cracking little bird. I do feel the eye is a little soft though.
Was nice to "bump" into you at Titchwell a few weeks back and have a chinwag, never bought so much Fruit and Nut chocolate in my life
Regards
Rob

I think that is an Flickr Issue Rob, I've noticed that several images look soft when uploaded despite being "needles" in Photoshop, It appears that they may add further compression.
