Here is a shot from my last backpacking trip out of Independance this past August. I caught these sort of flowers just as the first light landed on them. The blues were desaturated after the polarization had them a little too intense. The comp seems a little chaotic though to me.
Steve, this reflection is perfectly framed in the water. You have kept the main peak and adjacent ones right on the edges of the FG shoreline, not an easy task by any means. I tend to agree with your comment with regard to the composition. Maybe not chaotic per se, but a bit too busy in some key areas obviously. It just takes a bit of time to work around the entire scene to take it all in, which by no means is a bad thing.

That is pretty cool Steve. The reflection is so good that it doesn't even look like one!
Tough one. I like the image, but I do see how it is a bit busy. Hard to tell for sure until you print it.

I think if that flower in the LL third wasn't there, it probably wouldn't feel quite as busy and more balanced to my eye. Or maybe if the shape of the stem was more uniform like the ones on the right. Still nice image... especially with that sharp reflection. I do like the way that first light makes those flowers pop against that reflection.

Steve,
I like the scene and don't think it's too chaotic. The only suggestion really would be to experiment with actually blurring the reflection some to reduce the competition with the foreground flower(s). Nicely seen though.
