3:1 roe deer
from a little while back, no red deer from me, haven't been particularly active on the forum over the last month, haven't been very sucessful photography wise either, lots of long train rides into the countryside without much luck

not entirely sure about this shot, it is the full width of the shot and mostly of the top to get the right ratio, the background was a road which was alright but i think i prefer it like this, not the ideal size for posting this format

40D + 300mm F4L + 1.4 extender
1/20 @ F5.6
ISO 320
cropped mostly off top

Nice shot though and the pan suits it fine in my view.

I like the use of a letterbox format here.

I like this. Somehow the format seems to work.

I think it's a good picture. No disturbing elements.
Nice compo also.

Nice idea Jack

But the Roe has a bit too much space to the right of its 'bum' - for me the neck-line of the beast should be more to the right, on the 1/3rd vertical.

Otherwise an interesting and different treatment :wavey:

Nice picture, the crop elevates it. Wouldn't mind seeing this one it bit bigger.

Works for me Jack, perhaps a bit off the right as per Mr. A., but does not detract from a nice image of an alert subject.

A very nice shot indeed Jack. I really like the crop (though agree with taking a smidge off the right). I'd be pleased if it were mine.
