I have been thinking about it for a while, but here, at last, is my first posting on this site.
This little bee-eater was photographed in South Luangwa National Park in Zambia a few weeks ago from a land cruiser, using a bean bag as support.
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Sigma 50-500
Exposure: Goodness knows, but camera set to 400asa.
Comments and criticisms welcome.

Just looked at the upload and the tiny bit of stick on the left that I carefully cloned out has somehow managed to reinstate itself. How did I manage that? Also forgot to say that this is a crop of about half the original image area.

Hello David. I was in South Luanga 3 years ago - that's what got me into this hobby! Lovely image, albeit it could do with a little sharpening. Can't wait to see more. Hope the tetse flies weren't too bad!
Welcome. A nice first post of a colourful subject, but it does look a little soft.
Looking forward to more.

Thanks for your comments, and Ian - the tetses were murder. Fortunately for me they prefer the taste of my wife.

This post gave me a shock - thought I was posting things in my sleep!!
As the others have said it's a bit soft but otherwise a lovely shot of a lovely bird.

Nice to see you posting 'David'.. Great first example of some of your images. I can only echo the nits from others but otherwise it works well. I think it will get anyone confused with both 'David' & 'Dave' Sewell posting on here..! Fancy that..!
