Newt
Hi Guys,

Still not much time to go out and shoot as usual so i am allways happy when my 9 year old cousin calls me up to say he's caught something from "uncle Jeroens wishlist"...

This time he found a Newt and that was something i had been wanting to shoot for some time.

Greetings,

Jeroen Stel

Hi Jeroen,

Lovely shot, do you know what species it is? I am guessing at common or smooth newt as I think I can see a few spots under the chin (one of the distinguishing features), but it is difficult to be sure, especially at this time of year.

very nice Jeroen, I would like a cousin who did that  I like the composition and eye contact here.

Jeroen,

I like the vivid colours that frame the subject and the eye contact finishes it off.

Great Image.

Great colours and use of DOF. Not the most appealing subject to a lot of people but I spend most of my working life with these animals and enjoy every minute of it..! Very well captured and a pleasing image to view.

Just goes to show that centre compositions CAN be interesting. Like this a lot. I think the bright orange top-right is borderline distracting, but also adds a real warmth and boost of colour to the shot. Really very nice (as always Jeroen!)

Nice one, although I do fine the top right orange bit a tad distracting.
