Well just to prove the MKIII can occasionally get something in flight, and that the image does not have to be stationery (or dead )

Might be the last one

Well you've got the shot all right Steve :wavey:

All you need now is 50 Speedlights and you'll be freezing the action in no time

Were these hummers at Mindo?

Left mine on board ship!

No 'nits' Andy  thought the BG was a bit iffy, however you can't have everything I guess.

Perhaps

Appreciate the time :wavey:

Looks great to me Steve, I'd be very happy with this. I guess this was using AI Servo? Focus point just above centre? Just curious as I'm using a 1D3 and think I might be getting somewhere with flight shots but with plenty of room for improvement.

Hi Adam, yes to Servo (as it's moving), no to 'above centre point' as the center point is more accurate/sensitive, so slap bang head in centre. If that makes sense  Flash would have helped!

Hi Berti, nothing is out of reach of anyone, just timing, tons of shots & luck

A very difficult subject, and very well taken.Timing is excellent.

that's very nice Stephen. Must be similar to photographing dragonflies in flight I would have thought. Not easy!

This is just amazing! I've yet to see a humming bird (presume that's what it is) - can't wait.
