Shakira - BBC Big Cats fame

Hi all,

I'm just back from a trip to Masai Mara, Kenya where I was fortunate enough to be close to the BBC crew filming for the Big Cats program. I am sure some of you will have watched a bit of the coverage over the last week or so.

I have lots of images from the trip and this is not the best in terms of quality or light. I thought I'd post this one of Shakira and one of the cubs as they are in the news currently.

Fine picture. May be a little more space on the rigth.

A nice shot of one of the stars of Big Cat Live.

A lovely shot of the famous lady and one of her cubs. Perhaps a little space on the left for them to walk into, although I know it's difficult when they are on the move.

Never the less I am envious of this image, as it is somewhere I have always wanted to visit, and will do one day.

Regards,

Fran

Very jealous, I was supposed to be there this week but had to change plans. Thanks for sharing your photo of this wonderful animal.

It can be really tough (and very frustrating) to get clear family unit shots in the long grass, especially with a fixed prime lens - so much less manoeuvrability with composition at close quarters. I think you've done really well here. They are heading into space on the left and the running cub adds a little extra. May be a touch tight on the right. Have a play with the white balance - it might be a touch warm. Hopefully I can bag a few images when I visit her next week! Thanks for sharing!
