What is the relationship between NPN and TPN?
I notice in the portfolio area several references to the Travel Photographers Network that share common features and functionality of the NPN (especially the Forum and Image Galleries).
It appears that the some areas of the TPN website haven't been updated in a while. As full-fledged (paid) members of NPN, can we post and participate on TPN?
Just curious...

Matt - I'm a member of both, and the answer is "no". They were (still are?) affiliated, but the memberships are separate. It's a great bunch over there as well though, so you're very welcome to participate as a non-paying member, just like you can here.

Matt, like David stated, the TPN site is a fantastic site owned and operated by Jim White.
The history is that TPN was created by yours truly many years ago. It became quickly apparent to me that trying to do justice to both NPN and TPN was a larger task than I anticipated, so Jim White took possession of it. TPN has become a FAR better site under Jim's care!
A membership on either NPN or TPN entitles the member to a portfolio on PhotoPortfolios.net.
I know Jim is in the process of doing some major updates on the site, and is doing so by creating an entirely new parallel site that will become active once it is completed. So for now I would say hang in there - knowing Jim, it will be well worth the wait!
As an example of what goes on over there, a member-driven book project is in the final throes of layout before publication. Great bunch of very productive people.
