Last Sunday night while out at a local lake I took the opportunity to shoot the rising (nearly full) moon as it peeked out from behind some velvety clouds. I'm sharing this one because it's the best "moon" I've shot in a long time!

Hey Wayne, That is a great moon shot. The moon is so sharp that it looks like a cut and paste. This is much better than any of my shots of the moon. The clouds add a touch of color and interest.

I love the way the moon seems to "float" among the clouds. I tried to shoot the full moon the other day and got nothing anywhere near that clear. Nice shot.

Great job Wayne, excellent detail. I have try'ed many times to capture the moon and struggle with good exposure. This is really nice. Very well done, a keeper for sure.

Thanks everyone! I'm really surprised that no one mentioned my vague reference to ZZ Tops "Sharp Dressed Man"! And my even vaguer (is that a word ) mention of how long it's been since I shot the moon!

I knew right away what you were talking about when I saw your title...those guys can put on quite a show. BTW, their road manager owns a good bit of property up on Cave Mountain near Tim...

Wonderful detail in the moon, Wayne. The clouds are a big bonus and not an element often seen in full moon shots.
