I'm looking at picking up a G10 to replace my Oly C-8080 as a p&s alternative when carrying a DSLR doesn't make sense.
One thing I really like about the C-8080 is that I can mount a Cokin P-holder on it and use my grads.
It doesn't look like you can mount filters on the G10. Does anyone have experience with the G9 (or G10) and mounting filters. It looks like there might be some adapter accessories, but vignetting looks like it would be an issue. Plus, it looks a little clumsy.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I used that exact adapter on my G9 with a polarizer and a Cokin holder for use with Singh-Ray grads. I've never had problems with vignetting or with it feeling clumsy.

Check out the G9/G7 page on Lensmate. I have one of their adapters for my S2 IS, and it's very nice - mainly because it's metal, instead of the plastic one Canon produces. Plus it was cheaper (which might not hold with the G9 adapter.)
They are currently working on a G10 adapter, which apparently isn't interchangable with the G9 one.

David is correct, the G10 will require a new adapter. Canon's part number for the adapter is LA-DC58K.

Thanks for the feedback guys; very good to know it can be used without vignetting. The Lensmate product looks pretty interesting. I'll have to see what they come up with; it looks like they're about a week away.

Hi Rick,
You don't get vignetting with the adapter itself but it you use a telephoto lens and the adapter you do get vignetting unless you zoom all the way out. The camera takes a picture of the inside of the lens at less than full zoom.
I use the adapter to attach a polarizer and it works h=just fine.
