Rush Creek
Made this image while hanging out with Lon, Youssef and Preston on the June lake loop. I posted it at ESS and took advantage of some of the suggestions to fine tune it. I sure do appreciate the critiques here and at ESS.

Another nice one, Harley. I especially like the symmetry going on here. Also looks like this has held up real well with no loss due to compression, at least that I can see. During the week I was there I made a few stops at Rush Creek before you all arrived up there, but each time the wind was just too much. It can really carry on down in those June Lake Loop canyons.

I really like the contrast with the water background and green trees in ther upper half. This is one of those Fall images that seems to draw you in.

...aaahhhhhhh...... the Fall "quakies" at Rush Creek...
I can smell the air.... nicely done at one of my favorite places.
Yes, being able to see the water and green in the background
helps give some depth to the image.
Kudos and Thanks for sharing.

Symmetry. Motion. Delicate. Warm. Cool. All of these attributes make this work very nicely.

Well done, Harley!

Harley,

Again, I just love how those trunks stand out against the dark tones of Rush Creek. The golden tones in the leaves are great as well. Really well done.

Superb comp, Harley. The three trunks are very striking, especially against the dark background. For the web version, I might be tempted to brighten up the water just a scoche; I initially thought it was deep forest shade. I think the subdued tones work wonderfully here.

It was my first autumn in 5 years without my 4x5; felt a little weird.

Harley,

Well, well.... I remember asking you what you liked about the "brown and yellow" leaves... and now I know why! It's amazing and at the same time comforting, that you can have any number of photographers stand for hours in front of the same scene, and each come away with different interpretations. This is wonderful Harley! What makes this stand out is the simple and clean background of the creek below. the trio of trunks make for a balanced composition and the brown and yellow leaves are blended nicely.

This came out wonderful Harley - kudos for a great eye and recognizing the possibilities.
