I went to Bushy Park last Thursday in the hope of getting a few Rutting Deer, but they were all laying around with smug looks on their faces and smoking fags!!!! but I very soon became aware of the high pitched squealing that was around me and then started seeing these bright Green birds, and remembered the programme on the box about Rosy Ringed Parakeets,so I spent a lot of the day getting a few images of them as they looked like they are hear to stay...........

Stewart.......

Very nice contrast of the bright green against the dark trunk

RRP are relatively common in London and it's environs, the Esher rugby club had a winter roost of some 10,000 birds at one point several years ago, so yes theyar edefinately here to stay.......

Beautiful colours and nice compostion. Certainly haven't seen these this far north. I would lose the white patch at the top of the tree as it attracts the eye a little.

You certainly nailed this one, an excellent capture.

Note to myself. Must start to stop off in Bushy, on my way to Richmond Park.

Great looking bird set off well by its surroundings. I am sure we will be seeing more of this speceis in years to come.

Hi Stewart

Great capture/ pose - it does to me however look a little over saturated!

Wow, I love this one. I don't know if it is over-saturated, but the dark trunk certainly makes this shot sing. I think that if the bird had been looking into the shot from further left it would have been perfect, but the bg makes that impossible. I must say they look better on 'film' than they sound in real-life - what a racket.

Probably becoming more common than starlings within London... perhaps a slight lift in the levels is needed and with care the highlight top leftish on the tree can be dealt with... As David noted it is perhaps a tad too saturated.... tempting with these.

Lovely jump out colours here Stewart. Wonder if it would be worth cloning in some bark over the background leaves on the right hand edge?

There is apparently a colony of parakeets at least as far North as Preston, although I don't know what species.
