Very good work Major, sea spray makes the image for me :toast:

Not sure about this, for me the spray is a bit of a distraction, my eyes are being taken straight into the seal's expression, but one side of his face is shadowed, the other side is slightly obscured by spray which makes me squint slightly.

Colour temp also looks very warm, especially the blue tones in between the surf - theres lots of red in there, not sure whether this was captured or adjusted?

Overall I like the comp and position in the frame, and the typical seal expression

Lovely shot! The spray's a winner for me.
Is that a Norfolk seal as the colour of the water looks very familiar!

Yes its a Norfolk beach hence the colouration of the water.
Tim only thing I have adjusted as such is Saturation and to a small degree Warmth in NX.
To my eyes its no so different to original.
Oh and as for the shaded half I felt the left eye of the Seal more than made up for that and grabbed your attention. At least it grabbed mine.

Different to the more often seen Seal lazing around. Good environment shot, you can almost hear the waves and smell the sea air.

Very inquisitive.. I too think this is a little warm, I also think it could take a little more USM to really give some definition to the spray. Comp works well and I like the seal in its' 'wild' environment..

All the best,

Lovely eye contact and find the composition really pleasing with the lines of surf
