Look, up in the sky....
Dang, I thought mornings like today's only happened to Tim Ernst. There I was on Firetower Road, shooting the sunrise, and lo and behold, up pops a hot air balloon. Not only that, but it starts drifting into my scene. All I had to do was trip the shutter.

Actually, as I was talking to Tim about an hour later down at Steele Creek, I found out the balloon flew right over his workshop group shooting down on the river. I hope they were able to get some good shots too!

Very, very nice, Bill! A great scene with or without the balloon. But the balloon, with the AR logo! :toast:

Beautiful scene. I like the placement of the balloon.

Bill, you could not have planned this if you tried, what a lucky and great catch! I can see this on the front of one of the Arkansas visitor guides.

What Tom said ... the Department of Commerce should definitely receive a copy of this! But if they are anything like the KDOC don't expect to get paid for it. In Kansas the DOC is willing to help businesses but if they need something for promotional use their pocketbook is empty.

It's great when it all comes together Bill and this is one of those times. Super shot!

About a half hour before sunrise I was down there in that fog on 43 headed from the first overlook I checked to another one. Looks like I was checking the wrong places. Great shot!

Extremely cool and the Arkansas on the balloon is a huge bonus.

Some of you may or may not know that when Mike Mills left his job as Tourism director for Arkansas the state's balloon traveled to Ponca with him. Not sure how that deal went down, but he is the proud owner of it now and you can take a ride in it for about the price of a new lens - quite a ride I'm sure!

Wonderful Bill. It is always so cool to have the unexpected happen and turn out to be like this! Very well done.
