My Mantis shot
Have been looking for one since Toni posted her shot. We usualy have a lot around here, but I couldn't come up with any. Then Bruce catches one. Today this one shows up on our deck. Caught this one of him or her grooming. Couldn't reproduce Bruce's lighting but like this shot.

Nice catch. What kind of lens did you use?

Nice catch, Kendall. When it comes to lighting, sometimes you just have to take what you can get..we can't all come up with "Ford" lighting.

Sorry missed the tec report. I was using my usual 70-300mm lens it focuses close enough that I can fill the frame with most bugs and yet stay out of their space.

Interesting shot - I don't ever recall seeing a photo of this behavior before. Was this on a picnic bench or deck? Good capture.

Kendall, I like yours as you got the entire bug in Daylight (much better than my Ford's off kilter headlamps). Alot of my photos are luck and opportunity. I hadn't seen one prior to this. Sorry about the late reply as I was in NW Wisco w/no internet, phone, or TV.(I call it HEAVEN)!! BP
