Fall Fireworks?

Fall Fireworks?
Might just be me but I can almost see this as fireworks going off, but it's just grass.
I'm not sure what kind it is, but there is a local field that has acres and acres of this colorful painterly looking grass. I spent most of Saturday morning walking all over it while playing in the fog. Finally the little bulb went off in my head. Hey this stuff is kinda cool! So I left my 17-40 on and lowered the tripod down and shot away.
I put a little Orton effect on it which I usually don't do, but certain looks I think can benefit from it.
Just something a little different.

Here's little wider shot took while kneeling down looking out about 10 feet.

Love the colors in the grass. Great image!

Just a thought, I wonder what would happen if you flipped the image, so that the bright yellow-orange
grass is on the right instead of the left? Reason is that my eye is drawn to the brightness, and since
we are used to reading left to right, my eye keeps getting "pulled" back to the brightness. But I want
to explore the dark-red grass too. Just wondering...

Thanks for the comment and observation Jeremy. Here's the flipped version, I understand what your saying. Let me know what you think.

Hi Brad. Thanks for showing the flipped version.

After looking at both, I like the flipped version best. But which do you like?

Either way, cool image!

That is some weird looking grass, Brad. I agree the flipped version "reads" better. I like the Orton effect.

Great find Brad. Good eye on the comp too ... I like how the green grasses have created a natural "vigenette" in the corners. While I like both versions, the flipped one does have a slight edge.

Well hey I like both but then I'm way bias on this  . But I do know decent advice when I hear it. The flipped one stays in my shoebox as well.

I can't see any advantage to a flipped version, but will say that I really like the beautiful purples, greens, and yellows. And the Orton effect works nicely here. Great work Brad.
