makes me happy :-) I meat Lon/Preston/Youssef/Harley/Chris in LLV and it was very nice meeting you folks. I have been too slow in processing my image after I came back from ES. I was overboard with all kinds of backlog stuff that I need to take care before I can even see in my computers what I shot (apart from the small dinky lcd camera display) anyways, this is the one from my last day in Rock creek. the previous night has dumped a lot of snow and the fall colors were way past the peak. driving on the fresh snow off the road felt wonderful.

Comments and critiques highly appreciated.

Debjit,

Nice that you got to play in all that snow. It rained a little in Lee Vining canyon and that was about it.

I like the mix of warm and blue tones in your image combined with the snow. The snow on the trees looks great, as do the backlit aspen trees. Good job controlling the exposure, too. NIce detail in the shadows with a very bright sky.

Debjit, sorry I missed meeting you up there on the ES. I was there early on and found mostly all green stuff. Kind of an odd year this time out. Your image has a wonderful dynamic range to it considering the entire composition of shooting directly toward the sun. As stated, the detail in the shadows with this much sun and snow too truly shows an an excellent exposure overall.

Love the merging of seasons and the very crisp, clear feel. Agreed - great work controlling the exposure. Deep shade, bright snow and shooting directly into the sun - not an easy task!

Beautiful image. Way to control the flare so it doesn't take away from the image.

Beautiful image. Love the backlighting and the snow mixed with the fall color. Great capture.
I went on that trip or maybe part of it (in Lee Vining & Bodie) and met them sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you Debjit.

Debjit,

This has such a very fresh, crisp feeling to it - and even a warmth, despite what I imagine was a pretty cold morning. the backlighting is wonderful. The only thing that is bugging me are the various artifacts resulting from lens flare. I think if you cloned some of that out, this would really look great.

Almost 3 weeks now, but it was nice meeting you - all be it, briefly...
