I thought I'd share some good news with my friends here at the RMNP forum - Melissa and I are having a baby! She's due April 18 and so far, everything is going well. We're both super excited about becoming parents and I, at least, am also scared to death.
I'm already whispering "photography rocks" to her belly in the hopes that the little one will emerge with an itchy shutter finger.
Congratulations Bret! I'm glad everything is turning out well. Now you need to get that new 1DsMkIII to make sure you have the finest baby pictures possible. Melissa can't say no to that.

Funny ya'll should mention it. I've already talked her into letting me get the 5D MKII. I used the HD video to sell it. She bought it hook, line and sinker!

Wow, what a great surprise! Congratulations! If it's a boy, even though you are dying to, please resist the temptation to name the kid Todd. It's kind of a "redheaded stepchild" kind of curse. Ansel would work, though.

Congrats Brett and Melissa! Nothing to be scared about Brett 'cept they become 3 year olds, then eventually, omg, TEENAGERS Enjoy the little one while you can and take lots of photos; they do grow up way too quickly!

Congrats Melissa and Bret! Wow! All I can say is it's personally the best thing I ever did! Obviously changes your life drastically, but in so many good ways! It's amazing! At least you know you've got a ton of dad's on this forum to ask advice from!

Very true, Dave! I'm hoping that living in Moab will make it easier to escape for an afternoon of photography. We're already exploring the options for kid carrier backpacks. The Deuter is at top of the list right now.
