Not nature, but I wanted to share this photo that I've been working on. It's the Korean Warm Memorial in D.C. There was quite a bit of Photoshopping going on here as I cloned and painted out several people along the path/road along the memorial. I'll post the original, un-edited color version as well, just to share what I did.
I have never seen this memorial. Glad you shared it. Nice work-- good in b/w and without the people. Makes it more stark and grim, like the expresson on the front soldier's face.

Ryan - good job with the b/w conversion. It definitely looks better without the people. Also, as a father with a son currently in Afghanistan, this is appreciated! Thanks!
Your welcom Geoff. I was in the Marine Corps during Desert Storm. I have two nephews in Iraq right now. It's important that the men and women serving in the military are recognized for their sacrifice. They call the Korean War, "The Forgotten War", this memorial is a good testament to those veterans.

This is great Ryan. I like how your treatment adds to the starkness, important for a war memorial. My only suggestion is to leave the heavy shadows in the faces, especially of the lead soldier. The shadows really add a mood that I feel is lost without them.
To all who have served, thank you. We don't say it near often enough.

That is a very good suggestion, John! Now, looking back between the color versus b/w, that is exactly the suggestion which would make the b/w version great!
