High Plains stormy sky
I was out west of Amarillo on a day of great weather and cloud cover. Worked this area for different compositions with mostly sky or grass but decided the "rule breaker" of going 50-50 was best.

Just keep breaking those rules Darren and sharing them with us! The play of light/shadow in the sea of grasses creates a visual balance to the light & shadows in the sky. Very well done! :toast:

Impressive work Darren. Fantastic clouds and the grass ain't bad either. Thanks for sharing!

Yep, I think breaking the 50-50 rule on this one works well and gives the image a great sense of depth. Also, the sky is sort of divided into separate layers, and that breaks up the 50-50 symmetry some anyhow.

Excellent dynamic in this image. Great texture and detail, and the 50/50 works for sure in this image. :toast:

Thanks for the comments.

Wish I could be posting some fall color images, but we still a few weeks away from color getting to Texas. Everyone seems to be posting great autumn images in the regional forums, but we are still waiting for fall color in Texas until November.
