Bored of the beach
Hi - long time no see :wavey:

I’ve not done much in the way of ‘nature’ over the last few months, aside from the usual demands of living I’ve been busy at failing to become a rich and famous stock photographer! Oh well, never say die and practice, practice, practice

Anyway, seal season is here again and I was fortunate enough to come across some up on the north-east coast last weekend whilst away with my partner. The lovely understanding woman didn’t bat an eyelid when I abandoned her for while to go seal stalking.

C&C welcome as always and I’ll get around to some commenting myself over the next few days…

Paul

It can't be seal time again already - I've only just got the sand outta my pockets from last year!
Cracking shot, Paul.

Nice capture with that mouth yawning wide open like that... But with those tiny teeth, short, pugnacious nose and freckled colouration, you might want to double check your ID.. This is a common seal, have a look at 'Lazy Days' by Major Gilbert and then some of the Grey seal shots on here and you'll see..

Ahhh.....I am enlightened, many thanks Brett. My excuse is that we don't see many seals here in Lancaster!

Cheers, Paul

Nice shot Paul showing some interesting behaviour. I think it would have made a good close-up shot as well, as all the action is in the head area.

Nice detail Paul. I'd agree with Eric and be tempted to do a crop of the head area as the bulk of the body isn't really adding much impact to the shot. I'd like to get somewhere as close as this.
