After missing out on a real oh-my-God moment last night when the clouds closed in and killed it, I went back out this morning and shot some images of Tijeras Peak in the Sangres.

What was most amazing is the incredible, wild, one-of-a-kind creature I came across on the road up to Music Pass. More on that later.

That's a really dramatic peak in nice, dramatic light. Great work, as usual!

Excellent shot Todd. This is my favorite peak in the Sangres.

Todd,
Sure do love the comp an the dramatic lighting. Never been there. What town is it near (if any)?

Ahh, Music Pass, no wonder this image sings!

That's a cool looking mountain. Now that you've spoken of this "creature" you're gonna have to tell us about it.

What a beautiful peak! I like the diagonal layers going on in the foreground.

Gee, I don't suppose it was an ex in-law...

P.S. How do the Sangres look in Winter and Spring? Awesome enough for another trip?

For the big reveal of the creature I encountered, see Stan's "Westcliffe" topic thread...

That dramatic light just follows you Todd! What a gift!

Great light indeed, but wonderfully composed with the strong diagonals throughout. Don't think I'd like this as much without that kiss of light on the summit. Good work.
