Nice work Des, it's interesting to see the techs on this image as I have been trying this over the past few days and also applying 'stacking' etc.. I think this has worked very well with good detail where it counts and nice clean BG. Not a specialist but, they look like the same species that PhilH recently photographed on it's lonesome, Honey fungus, Armillaria mellea..
Des, apart from mushrooms on toast I know absolutely nothing about fungi, but this image is one of the nicest I've seen. Great depth of field, colour and good specimens of whatever they are. The only 'improvement' I can possibly see would have been to lose the dark patch behind the fronds of moss on the right but even with that in I still think it's a cracking shot.
Robert.
Ooo I like this, very nice DoF and pin sharp. Agree a tighter crop on the bottom would be good.

Beautiful illustrative shot Des.
As Robert says, the OoF dark patch behind the moss is a slight fault, and the 3 fine moss stalks leading out of the left frame edge could do with going too.
Very minor nits in an otherwise very appealing image

Yes looks like honey fungus. I agree with what has been said about the cropping off the bottom, but apart from that a very fine image indeed. Excellent.
This is great, an interesting looking fungus and well captured. I like the way the tallest one is overlapping the one next to it, but you can't take credit for that! You can take credit for a great shot though.
