Nuthatch
Got a shock when I saw the colours in this. ! This bird, instead of using the main pool picked a little puddle of water about a foot across, full of dead and dying leaves. They often seem to do this and sometimes the water is filthy before they even start !
I thought the colours abit bright but thought I'd leave it the way it came out.

Colours look nice and natural on a calibrated monitor John - perhaps your monitor needs a bit of a tweak if they look a bit bright your end.
Can't ever say I've seen a Nutty having bath before - nice shot

Thanks Andy
At least that gives me a guide to go by.

Nice shot from this POV, normally I prefer these sorts of shots a little lower down but this one works well.
The leaves give it a definite seasonal touch!
Color looks about right from here, (viewed on my calibrated workflow)

Maybe its because of the tannins leached out from the leaves, they may be of benefit to the bird in some way, just a thought. Well up to your usual standard, John.

Colours look right on my monitor as well, and you have a nice white on the bird itself. Looks entirely natural to me - and a cracking good shot as well.

Hello John.
Really nice image and love the colours. The colour range from my end is fine.
I know from your comments in the past you dont like to alter your images. But for me I would tone down or clone out the bright leaf in the top right corner. We have a lovely Autumn feel to this picture and I feel the bright yellow leaf does,nt belong in there.
This is just me and as I said it a fine image.

Hi Guy
Thanks - I agree entirely, now that you have pointed it out.
I won't bother to post it again but I have tried it and it certainly does looks better.

I have had a pair of nutty's visiting my garden recently, I just hope I can get an image that matches up to this! Very nice indeed.
