In Colorado many photographers are opting to use laminates over traditional framing techniques. Jack Brauer has a fine example of this here: http://www.widerange.org/prints.php#mounting

I was wondering if any of you use this method as well? If so which companies have you used in CA with good results.

Thanks,

Derek

Hi Derek,

Although I'm doing mostly canvas now I did the Color Plak/Color Box presentation that Jack offers for a while. You can actually find dealers/local framing stores that have been trained the technique by color plak. For example, my local Aaron Bros art store actually does this. However, they mark up the prices pretty high. Fortunately for me color plak is based in Anaheim so I always went there directly. You can also ship your images in tubes and they will mount them and ship them back to you. They offer wholesale prices that are very reasonable and much cheaper than through their dealers(or online at their website) if you have a resellers permit.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have used lamiframe somewhere in Northern or Central California. They did one for free for me. It came out really good. It's on permanant display at the visitor center for the Santa Monica Mountains Nat'l Rec Area. Their prices vary but seem worth it for as much as you can sell them for.

I should take a look at Jason's suggestion.
