Castle Mountain
From my Oct. 5th visit to Ohio Pass. C & C solicited!

You've placed Castle Mountain beautifully. If you can hold the clouds and snow where they are and brighten the rest this will pop. Those aspen look great!

I agree with Mel on lightening up the foreground. Also, did you purposely desaturate the sky? Looks strange to have blue in the shadows of the mountains, but not a hint of it in the sky.

The snow gives some great separation. I agree with the others about lightening the fg and I might also try darkening the sky a touch to keep the focus on the mtns and trees.

Beautiful shot Arlen. Good composition, and you timed your visit well. Great color. I generally agree with the others. The disparity of color between mountains and sky is extremely distracting.

I agree with everyone above. Also seems to need some sharpening to me.

Nice comp! I agree with the comments above. This must have been a pretty long lens. Nice shot.

Many thanks to all who have commented! This is exactly the feedback I was looking for.

To answer a few of the questions posed: No - I didn't desaturate the sky, but I DID desaturate the mtns! The only blue in the sky was overhead. The lens was a Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM @ 200mm on a 5D body. I'll go back to the original RAW and start over with the processing. Again, thanks for the comments! :wavey:
