A hello, and a photo
Hi everyone. I've been lurking around here way too long and finally decided to join the party at NPN.

My name is Aaron, and I live in North Bend, OR. I have been a pretty hard core photo-nut for the last few years, spending most of my free time roaming the beaches and woods of Southern Oregon making photos.

I discovered the PNWNPN forum about year ago and have learned a ton from all of the great photogs that frequent here. As I'm sure most of you do, I spent a fair amount of time looking at photography online, and I honestly feel that the PNW is the cream of the crop.

So, thats a little about me, and I look forward to participating in the discussions and critique here and throughout the site.

About the photo. This is Camas Creek, a tributary to the Coquille River not too far inland from Coos Bay. I drove up there last weekend to see what was shakin with the fall colors and was amazed by how great all of the maples looked. I spent all day wading several miles up the creek bed, and this was one of the keepers.

40D, Tokina 12-24, F/13, probably a second or two...

All comments and critique strongly encouraged.

Very nice Aaron. The leaf in the pothole really makes this one, good eye on that. Love that area, gonna have to get back down there one of these days.

This is a real winner! I like the f/g with the maple leaf in the pothole. B/g is busy but am sure it cleans up nicely in a larger version. Well done! Dark brown waters go well with yellows. Ken S ps...welcome!

Nice first post Aaron. The colors are great and I agree about the f/g maple leaf, it really anchors the shot. Well done and welcome to the site.

Aaron:

Same way I felt about two weeks ago. While I still vist the Cafe and the B&W at Freds (not that often), I really wanted to focus (pardon the pun) on imaging and folks who do where I live. Love the NW - really I think one of the great places to image in the world.

BTW nice image.
